Focus

Investment Focus

We concentrate on a small number of areas we can understand deeply and hold for the long term. This page describes our orientation, not an offer of any kind.

How we think about capital

We allocate patiently and hold with intent. Rather than spread capital thinly across many themes, we prefer a concentrated set of commitments in areas where our knowledge, relationships, and time horizon give us a genuine edge.

The areas below describe where we tend to focus. They are a reflection of our temperament and mandate — not a solicitation, a fund, or a promise of any outcome.

Areas of focus

Enduring businesses

Profitable, well-run companies with durable competitive advantages, honest accounting, and operators who think like owners. We favour simple businesses we can understand and hold for a very long time.

Real assets

Land, property, and other tangible assets held primarily for preservation, use, and the steady compounding that comes from careful, unhurried ownership.

Direct partnerships

Selective co-investment alongside operators and stewards whose values align with ours. We would rather own a meaningful stake in a few partnerships we believe in than a token position in many.

Legacy initiatives

Family and community initiatives — philanthropic and mission-driven — that extend the reach of our stewardship beyond the balance sheet.

What we avoid

Just as important as where we focus is what we decline. We avoid strategies that depend on leverage we would not be comfortable holding through a downturn, on timing we cannot control, or on outcomes we cannot honestly assess.
